On November 21, 2022, the team of Professor Jianping Jia from Xuanwu Hospital was invited by a top international journal to publish a comment entitled “Ending age discrimination and stigma to promote healthy ageing in China” in The Lancet. In this comment, they demonstrated the relationship between cognitive impairment and active health China, analyzed the present situation and the cause of discrimination against the elderly population, emphasized the importance of changing this situation through legislation, culture and health care, and made recommendations to prevent discrimination and stigmatization of diseases in order to better achieve healthy aging.
